Where to report a problem rather than a sighting: roadkill, strandings, poisoning, invasives and lost fishing gear.

• California Roadkill Observation System

  Submit geotagged roadkill photos anywhere in California, from the UC Davis Road Ecology Center, whose same site indexes roadkill programs worldwide

• The Road Lab

  UK national roadkill reporting by app, form or social media, past 103,000 reports. Renamed from Project Splatter in 2022, so search both

• Projekt Roadkill

  Austria's roadkill reporting through the SPOTTERON app or a web form, run by BOKU Vienna

• Taiwan Roadkill Observation Network

  Taiwan's national roadkill reporting. The site blocks automated tools but works in a browser, and its data was still flowing in mid-2026

• Srazena zver

  Czech animal-vehicle collision reporting by hunters and the public, run by the Transport Research Centre. Registration needed

• EWT Wildlife and Transport Programme

  South Africa's roadkill database and RoadWatch app, around 30,000 reports. Note the domain moved from ewt.org.za

• Sistema Urubu

  Brazil's app for reporting animals killed on highways and railways. Nothing on the site is newer than 2022, so check the app before relying on it

• MISIN

  Early-detection invasive species reporting and identification training for the US Midwest, from Michigan State

• iMapInvasives

  NatureServe's invasive reporting network, currently covering Arizona, Maine, New York, Oregon and Pennsylvania plus Canadian partners

• EASIN

  The EU's invasive alien species information system, with a citizen reporting app and the official Member State notification route

• Invading Species Awareness Program

  Ontario's invasive species hotline and volunteer surveillance, including wild pig reporting

• USGS Nonindigenous Aquatic Species

  Report an aquatic invasive sighting in the US and subscribe to its alert system

• FeralScan

  Australia's pest animal reporting, and through WomSAT it also takes wombat mange and dead-wombat records

• GB non-native species alerts

  Britain's rapid reporting route for alert species, including Asian hornet. The old asianhornet URL now points here

  How to report raptor persecution, poisoning and nest destruction in the UK

• African Wildlife Poisoning Database

  Report a poisoning incident anywhere in Africa, run by the IUCN Vulture Specialist Group with EWT. The form works, though the public statistics have not moved since 2022

• End Wildlife Trafficking Online: report a listing

  Report suspected illegal wildlife products for sale online. The form states it does not currently accept reports from Europe

• dBird

  Report a bird killed or injured by a collision, with over 38,000 records from 119 organizations

• Global Bird Collision Mapper

  Worldwide reporting of bird collisions with buildings, run by FLAP Canada

• Garden Wildlife Health

  Report a sick or dead garden bird, amphibian, hedgehog or reptile in the UK, and it goes to a vet pathology network

• Canadian Wildlife Health Cooperative

  Report sick or dead wildlife in Canada, and submit carcasses for disease diagnosis

• UK Cetacean Strandings Investigation Programme

  Report a stranded cetacean, marine turtle or basking shark in the UK. Running since 1990

• NOAA: report a stranded or injured marine animal

  US reporting for stranded, entangled, injured or dead marine mammals and sea turtles, with regional hotlines

• ORRCA

  24-hour marine mammal and turtle rescue hotline plus incident reporting for New South Wales

• COASST

  Beached bird and marine mortality surveys on the northeast Pacific coast. Volunteers are trained rather than casual reporters

• Global Ghost Gear Initiative data portal

  Report and browse records of lost and abandoned fishing gear. Note the working domain is ghostgear.org
